Walking the Dogs..
Found time after lunch today to walk the dogs .... Plan was to head out to misc farm properties that I have permission on , touch base with the landowners to confirm permission for the fall , walk the dogs and work on thinning out the ground hogs at the same time ...

Covered ground from Drumbo , then North thru to Mt Forest ... Stopped in at Conestoga Lake to renew my licence .... ( = access to 7 hunting areas for deer , ducks , geese , pheasants , grouse , rabbits etc ... @ $ 225. ) .... here is the link , if anybody is interested ...

Got a few pictures today ( quality aint great = shot with a pocket point and shoot Olympus stylus 500 digital , but it logs the events of the day none the less ) ...

Earlier , Near Drumbo ... somebody was clearing some bush and buried this backhoe and this bulldozer in the " black muck " .... I think I hear a crane coming !

Pretty well every farm I stopped at today had good crops so far .... corn , wheat , beans etc . .... the deer are going to love it !

Had 9 field grizzlies in the cross hairs of my .223 Remington 700 BDL today , and scored on 8 of them .... here are some clean " walk up pic's " .... the rest were too messy for pictures .... ( 55 grains of Federal Soft Point plays some wicked chin music , inside of 200 yards ) ...

Shots ranged from 40 yards to 175 yards ...

This guy was distracted by the dogs and popped up in front of me ..

Sally and Spike do the " walk up " on another ...

A real long shot .... couldn't find him at the hole .. but Spike caught his scent in the clover ...

Another long shot .... felt good at the trigger pull ... found him slumped down the hole ...

Saw lots of turkeys and deer today ... but only managed to get the camera on two does during our " walk about " ...

Back to the truck at the last farm of the day .... breaking it in ... got 3600 KMs on it now .... looking forward to putting it thru it's paces in the fall ....

A beauty day to spend time in the field .... early goose season is only a couple months away ! .... then on to the October Whitetail Archery opener ...

" Remember , Trophies are measured by the time and energy expended to get them , not the size or quantity of the quarry "

See Ya. R.J.
