Two hits, one miss and a tasty grouse ! |
Our Shotgun opener in WMU80 started off with a bang when Skip put the smack down on a young buck ( sorry , no picture is was dragged and tagged before I got a camera on it ) .
A couple of pushes later ... man . this is what a driver loves loves to see when he walks out of the heavy cover !
On a new permission property ... we rousted this old gnarly 12 point off of his bed along the river flats ... and sniper CH " put the hurt on him " when he tried to run the gauntlet !
Old and gnarly , he had some cool junk going on .
CH spending some quality " field time " with his dad .. a quick picture , priceless !
The fowl at the new farm watched on with little interest ...
Missed a niced sized doe on the last push of the afternoon ...  ( shot looked good at the time , but watched her jump a fence two fields away , and only small drops of blood after approx 750 yard tracking across three fields .. ) ( must not have been vital hit ) .
PS : Picked up a tasty grouse for the pot as well !
