June / July , and now most of August have flown by ! ... I just pulled the memory card from my camera for a look back .
Some of you may remember my pet tom " Gus "
Well we got him a new girl friend ... they had some little ones , but the spring brought a wicked battle with racoons and only one chick survived ... at night it sleeps roosted on Gus's neck .
Been a good year for the crops , but the good growing conditions also mean more grass to cut ...

Got a jump on gathering wood for the winter ... Basement is full ... porch has overflow and another load still in the Jeep !
Made it out to the Petersen clan fish fry ( some awsome perch / pickerel / bass ... and at home we are going thru the last of the Upland and Waterfowl treats ... good thing September has an early Goose season with a chance to refresh the freezer !

And of course , I still find time for some local wildlife shots ...
This doe has one fawn ... I see them almost daily .
Earlier this week , I got a chance to get a picture of the fawn bedded in the thick weeds ...
Later on I staked out a opening in the fenceline and got a few frames when it came thru to join up with the doe ...

The local coyotes keep the deer and turkeys on their toes ... Got a few frames of this young one a few farms over from me ...

This young skunk passes thru the ditch while I'm out cutting grass ...
Keeping the back trail open ...
And some quick board tighten up's to misc stands ... like the " Wylie Harvey ramp stand "
Gotta go ... CH just dropped by with some turkey tail mounts he did for me ... Good luck to all that are going after the long necks in the September early season ! ... October 1st can't come soon enough !
PS : Here are some pic's of the turkey tail mounts CH dropped off ... he said he still has
to brush them out next time he is over ... but they look good to me ...
I like the laser cut bird in the wood plaque as well ...

He also did a europene mount for me ... turned out great !
