Emptied the camera tonight , with pic's from Feb / March ...
We had fun in the snow at the end of the season ... ( Mikey B. cuts trails at the back of my property with his FJ )
Rain has taken the snow down and I can drive to the back of my property again ...( My truck is looking good again after fix up from last months deer collision )
When I walk my property boundry ... it is obvious where the turkeys have been ...
But they are still real spooky and stay way ahead of me in the bush ...( We have seen them close to the house in large numbers , but haven't got the camera on them , before they spook off )
Bump into the odd racoon waking up now that the warm weather is here ...
My Tom " Gus " patrols the back yard ... keeping his girlfriend close by .
The deer are back in numbers now that the snow has melted showing some decent corn stubble , in the field behind my shop ... We counted 32 last Thursday night ... I got a quick snap shot of a few with my pocket camera ... They walked out from the East bush while we were having supper .
Talked with chris4570 and Pyd picked me up a dozen Blood Trail Ales for the bar
I got invited again ( 2nd time for me ) , to the anual Petersen Clan " Wild Game dinner "
( We had everything ... deer/moose/grouse/pheasant/duck/geese/rabbit/squirell etc. )

Court P's grandfather is 92 , and still gets out to hunt with with the family !
Pretty quiet , the first half of the meal , as everyone " chows down " on the wild treats !
A few generations of Petersen's in this picture ...( No the young lad wasn't drinking ... just posing with a wine bottle ! )

Of course , now that Spring is here ... I'm " gear checking " and polish up my Stoger M2000 in preperation for the Spring Turkey season ... and my Savage 93 17HMR ( ready for some ground hogs ! )
Man that 17 HMR cartridge looks wicked !
A little local scouting and I bump into this loner ...

The spring thaw uncovers , lots of tastey treats for the misc critters in the area ..

Tundra Swans , drop by on their scheduled migration ...
Geese are pairing up everywhere ...
Still some groups along the river ...
The sun broke thru " big time " today ... I got a few nice shots of "Gus " as the sun dropped in the West after work tonight ...

Won't be long before we are chasing the " bearded birds " .... Good luck to all that venture out ! ... May you find yourself in the bush , at the peak of the strut this spring , and the peak of the rut this fall ! ... Hunt safe , have fun , and take lots of pictures !
